Are you on Facebook?

Well, I said I never would, but I did. thQXAFZP2G

I must be one of the last bloggers alive to open a Facebook page. I find the page itself a bit of a mind boggling minefield, so many buttons and boxes with too little going on for me to taste the full flavour of its potential. I am wondering if any of my blog buddies are on Facebook and if you would like to become one of my friends. Here’s my address

It would be great to see you there!

I tried it and closed it as other than sharing posts I wasn’t quite sure what to post and whether I would have time to keep it going or how to build up likes an audience! Lately I’ve been wondering whether to try again so it’s interesting you’ve taken the plunge! What convinced you? 🙂

Nosiness 😉 I have a twitter account and use t mainly for promoting blog posts, but it takes a while to build contacts. Now and then I’ll go on when another blogger is there and have a quick chat. Facebook has similar intentions, although I’m not so sure I’ll like it. It seems so complicated and I’m not very patient

It took me a while 🙂 I did it wrong the first time 🙂 go to the Search Twitter box and type in #bpdchat then click the magnifying glass. It will bring back some results at the top of which it says Top/all. Click on All to see all results. As for the hashtag symbol, on my keyboard it’s under the ~ symbol next to the Enter key. But I’m not sure if it’s the same on all keyboards…..

Hi Cat, I am on FB (http://www.facebook.com/InfiniteSadnessorwhat?ref=hl) I have to admit that while I went to FB (nearly three years ago) with the intention of promoting blog posts, I find that it doesn’t really work. Likers seem more interested in other material I choose to post there. I’m in a constant state of indecision as to what to do with my page. I hope yours works, and I’ve been there and liked both as page and as me. Good luck!

I have twitter and not sure that works for my blog, but it’s nice to have a little nosey. Facebook seems a lot more complicated. I just added you as friend. Thank you, Cate, hope you’re well

It’s a good idea! Half my following comes from Facebook… It’s not too confusing really. You post likes and comments there just like here. Basically, it’s a gaming forum though. Up top where the little world globe is, you’ll find loads of people inviting you to play in their group, in their chosen game. Get started in that aspect of it, and we’ll never hear from you again! LOL!

It’s a good idea to leave picture quotes there like they’re used to, and just informally invite them to your blog now and again, briefly outlining what it’s about. The downside is, you’ll have to leave other picture quotes there and comment on their stuff. Comments there though are usually 2 lines or less. I can accomplish what I need to there inside of fifteen minutes, give or take…

I created a FB page for my blog too, but wasn’t sure what to post other than my blog posts. Plus I was a bit paranoid that I might accidentally post something to the page under my real name. I’ve enjoyed Twitter for the first time ever though.

Facebook is a great place to meet like minded people. When you first start out, if you don’t know anyone or aren’t sure how to get started – try joining some Facebook groups. In the search bar at the top of your page, type in a subject you are interested in and it will give you a list of communities or groups concerning that subject. You can join groups where you don’t have to be friends with the people in the group to chat with them, you just post things or they post things and you/they comment. There are groups for every topic you can imagine.

I practically live on facebook – I make content for 3 different pages and have “liked” you from each one. Maybe you’ll do likewise. The way FB works, you get higher in the ratings (and so show up on more people’s pages) if your post gets comments and shares, so it helps to get a few buddies.

Facebook is a wonderful place and there is a HUGE inspirational-pages community. Every day I start my day over there. Wish you every success with your page it does take networking – likes, comments, sharings. Hopefully I will reach 500 likes soon on my OHM page, and I’ve been working consistently on it for a year.
